Liang Zi and gambiered Guangdong silk
In 1995, the designer Liang Zi met the gambiered Guangdong silk by chance. Due to the devotion of natural materials and traditional handicraft, Liang Zi is touched by the unique hand feeling, texture and the simple and unsophisticated artistic conception of the Gambiered Guangdong Silk and becomes attached to it since then.
At that time, the traditional production process of Gambiered Guangdong Silk was almost lost from past generations. Liang Zi looks for the technician of such process in many ways, and devotes to the research in person and develops new varieties deeply such as "TANGY colorful Gambiered Guangdong Silk", "TANGY rare Gambiered Guangdong Silk", "TANGY Lithocarpus Gambiered Guangdong Silk", etc. Since 2001, Liang Zi had continuously made the news conference at China Fashion Week with Gambiered Guangdong Silk for 8 years. The perfect combination of tradition and fashion, in addition to many honors for "TANGY" Brand and Liang Zi, changes the single appearance of Gambiered Guangdong Silk in 2200 years, and endows richer culture and fashion connotation.
In 2008, Liang Zi did her upmost to assist the local government to successfully declare Gambiered Guangdong Silk process as the national intangible cultural heritage. Liang Zi appeals to many parties for the purpose of protecting such traditional cloth manufacturing process. Under her advocacy, Liang Zi Fashionable Dress united the National Standards Commission to formulate the international standard of "Gambiered Guangdong Silk" and "Gambiered Guangdong Silk Cloth" which has been implemented. Liang Zi and the place of origin of Gambiered Guangdong Silk-- Shunde Government jointly invested and established "Protection Base of Gambiered Guangdong Silk as National Intangible Cultural Heritage", and donated RMB 2 million to establish "Protection Foundation of Gambiered Guangdong Silk" to devote to jointly protecting the rare treasure saved.
